Band Hierarchy

CDW publishes job titles, executive officer roles and plan eligibility, but no enterprise grade taxonomy. The B1 through B10 ladder below is an analyst crosswalk of public titles anchored on two CDW postings that carry disclosed ranges; B11 and B12 are the proxy-disclosed executive tiers and are held out of the band table because CDW discloses them for the United States only.

Disclosed executive layer

B11 — Executive Vice President and C-suite
Chief Financial Officer, Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Technology and Product Officer, Chief Growth and Innovation Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer and General Counsel.
Fully disclosed for named executives. 2025 totals ran $4,343,030 to $6,389,261 with annual equity generally 60 percent performance share units and 40 percent restricted stock units.
B12 — Chair and Chief Executive Officer
Christine A. Leahy, Chair and Chief Executive Officer.
Fully disclosed. $15,009,507 for 2025 with a 200 percent of base annual incentive target and a $11,759,937 grant-date equity value.
Board — Non-employee directors
Independent directors including the Lead Independent Director and the Audit, Compensation and Nominating committee chairs.
Fully disclosed. Standard 2025 package of $112,500 cash and $187,433 equity for $299,933, with a 5 times cash retainer ownership guideline.
VerifiedCDW's public leadership sequence supports a conventional manager, director, vice president, senior vice president, executive vice president and chief executive ladder. The band codes B1 through B12 are this report's labels for that sequence and are not used inside CDW.

Track divergence

B1 to B4
Technical, sales-support and delivery titles track closely. Variable targets stay under about 12 percent of base and the only equity channel is the Coworker Stock Purchase Plan.
B5 to B6
The technical individual contributor and people-manager tracks visibly diverge. A Technical Lead and a Service Delivery Manager can share a band while carrying different variable leverage.
B3 upward in sales
Quota-carrying roles leave the band model entirely. CDW states that seller compensation is substantially uncapped, so a percent-of-base target is not a ceiling for account executives, account managers or some sales engineers.
B7 to B10
Long-Term Incentive Plan eligibility exists but no grant policy is published, so equity becomes the largest undisclosed variable in a leadership offer.
B11 upward
The Senior Management Incentive Plan replaces role-level bonus plans with a single company scorecard, and target direct compensation becomes roughly 86 to 93 percent variable.

Hierarchy qualifications and legacy structures

  • CDW's 2025 Form 10-K and 2026 proxy statement disclose job titles, executive officer roles, plan eligibility and named-executive pay. Neither discloses a universal grade or band architecture, a country salary grid, an appraisal rating scale or a grant threshold below the named-executive population.
  • Only two current CDW postings in the source set carry disclosed ranges: a Sr. Quality Engineer I at $103,000 to $151,400 base with a 5 percent bonus target, and a Senior Manager, Service Delivery at $134,800 to $188,360 base with a 15 percent bonus target. Those two points anchor B4 and B6 and every other band is extrapolated from them.
  • CDW Technologies India was formerly Sirius Computer Solutions India. That is a useful title-history clue for candidates reading old job descriptions, but no public evidence shows a formal post-acquisition band harmonisation map, so any claim that legacy grades were fully aligned would be speculative.
  • The 2021 Long-Term Incentive Plan replaced the 2013 plan for new awards while legacy awards remain outstanding until vesting, exercise or expiry. A long-tenured coworker can therefore hold awards governed by two different plan documents.
  • CDW's US postings state that ranges may be subject to geographic differentials, but the multiplier formula is not public. Every city factor on this page is an analyst calibration, not a CDW policy number.
  • Executive officers can hold a Senior Vice President title while being paid on the named-executive scale, so title alone does not identify the pay tier above B9.

Peer-level mapping

BandArchetypePeer mappingCaveat
B1Associate / TechnicianAssociate or Analyst entry titles at Insight Enterprises, TD SYNNEX, PC Connection and Wesco, and Level 1 support at a managed service provider.Entry titles are broadly comparable across IT resellers, but CDW's distribution and fulfilment sites at Las Vegas and North Las Vegas sit in a different labour market from its Illinois sales floors.Vernon Hills anchor modeled from the entry band of CDW's disclosed US posting ranges; no CDW-specific associate salary observation was located.
B2Analyst / Engineer I / Associate ConsultantAnalyst or Engineer I at Insight Enterprises and TD SYNNEX; roughly a Software Engineer II worksite title in CDW's own H-1B filings.Glassdoor's Chennai clusters place CDW associates at ₹600,000 to ₹700,000, a narrower band than the equivalent US spread, so cross-market title matching at this level is unreliable.Levels.fyi and Indeed CDW observations for early-career analyst and engineer titles, anchored on Vernon Hills.
B3Engineer II / Consultant / Account ManagerConsultant or Engineer II at Insight Enterprises, Presidio and Computacenter; Account Manager maps to the quota-carrying entry tier at every peer reseller.Role family matters more than title here. CDW states that seller compensation is substantially uncapped, so an Account Manager's realised total can sit far outside this band while an Engineer II's cannot.Levels.fyi CDW software engineer records around a $111,000 company-page median, cross-checked against Indeed India consultant averages of ₹916,367.
B4Senior Engineer / Senior Consultant / Project ManagerSenior Consultant or Senior Engineer at Insight Enterprises, Presidio and Computacenter; roughly a Senior Software Engineer worksite title in CDW's H-1B filings. This is the only non-executive band with a directly disclosed CDW range, so peers matched here are matched to evidence rather than to a model. The equivalent India title sits at roughly a tenth of the Vernon Hills base.CDW Sr. Quality Engineer I posting disclosing $103,000 to $151,400 base with a 5 percent bonus target; midpoint $127,200 against a $125,000 anchor median.
B5Lead Consultant / Technical Lead / ArchitectLead Consultant or Architect at Insight Enterprises and Presidio; roughly a Senior Solution Architect worksite title in CDW's H-1B filings. The technical individual contributor and people-manager tracks visibly diverge from this level, so a Technical Lead and a first-line Manager can share a band without sharing a pay shape.Levels.fyi CDW architect and engineering-lead submissions, cross-checked against Glassdoor Chennai lead clusters of ₹1.4 million to ₹2.3 million.
B6Principal Consultant / Solution Architect / ManagerPrincipal Consultant or Solution Architect at Insight Enterprises, Presidio and Computacenter; Manager maps to the first people-leadership tier at every peer.Levels.fyi puts a CDW Solution Architect median near $210,000 total with a Chicago example at $195,000 base plus a $15,000 bonus, which sits above this band's anchor and shows how wide the architect population is.CDW Senior Manager, Service Delivery posting disclosing $134,800 to $188,360 base with a 15 percent bonus target; the posted maximum sets the anchor median.
B7Senior Manager / Principal ArchitectSenior Manager or Principal Architect at Insight Enterprises and TD SYNNEX; the common gateway into multi-team or enterprise architecture scope.CDW publishes no range at or above this level, so the anchor is extrapolated from the B6 posting maximum. The India equivalent at ₹3,650,000 is the highest India band with a corroborating third-party average.Extrapolated from the disclosed Senior Manager, Service Delivery posting and Indeed India lead averages of ₹1,797,305; no CDW range is published at this level.
B8Director / Senior DirectorDirector or Senior Director at Insight Enterprises, TD SYNNEX and Wesco; the first level at which CDW's own compensation peer group of Accenture, Cognizant, HPE and IBM becomes a live alternative employer.Public salary evidence at this level is sparse for CDW specifically, so the range is modeled. CDW discloses no equity grant threshold here, which is exactly the level at which peers usually begin routine restricted stock.Analyst model. No CDW director salary disclosure, posting range or equity matrix exists; the variable target is the midpoint of the bundle's 20 to 40 percent assumption.
B9Vice PresidentVice President at Insight Enterprises, TD SYNNEX and Presidio. CDW's compensation peer group for executive benchmarking includes Accenture, Arrow, Avnet, CGI, Cognizant, Flex, Genuine Parts, Henry Schein, HPE, IBM, Jabil, LKQ, Grainger and Wesco. No public CDW vice-president salary grid or equity matrix exists. Long-Term Incentive Plan awards are permitted and likely role-selective at this level, but grant frequency and typical value are not disclosed, so the band carries no modeled equity.Analyst model on a 30 to 60 percent variable assumption. The bundle's alternative $800,000 total for this band folded in an unevidenced long-term incentive value and is not carried here.
B10Senior Vice PresidentSenior Vice President at Insight Enterprises and TD SYNNEX. Where the incumbent becomes a named executive officer, the proxy replaces the model with hard numbers.Pay at this level varies with named-executive status and remit rather than with the title. Albert J. Miralles, a Senior Vice President and chief financial officer, reported a $6,389,261 total for 2025, far above any modeled Senior Vice President band.Analyst model on a 50 to 100 percent variable assumption. The bundle's alternative $2,150,000 total folded in an unevidenced long-term incentive value and is not carried here.

Critical evidence warning

Nothing on this page should be read as an official CDW pay band. CDW has never published one. The B1 through B10 ladder is an analyst normalisation layer that exists to make public salary observations comparable across markets, and it was built from two disclosed posting ranges plus employee-submitted records on Levels.fyi, Indeed and Glassdoor. Salary platforms carry small and self-selected samples and their own pages sometimes disagree with themselves: the Levels.fyi India software engineer page reports both ₹954,271 and ₹1.02 million as the median for the same role, and the US company page median of about $111,000 conflicts with its own role subpages. Those conflicts are preserved here rather than resolved in the direction that reads best. Anything at B7 and above, and anything in a market graded as a service footprint, is a planning envelope for negotiation and workforce modelling, not a claim about what CDW pays.

Publicly identified corporate headquarters · 4 reported band cellsReportedModeledVerifiedAnchor medians are Vernon Hills figures in US dollars. Base is the observed or extrapolated median for the band. Bonus is the band's variable target midpoint applied to base, taken from the disclosed 0 to 5 percent, 5 percent and 15 percent posting targets and the bundle's assumptions in between. Total is base plus bonus, with no employer benefit load and no modeled equity, because CDW publishes no grant policy below its named executives. The source bundle's own senior totals of $305,000 at B8, $800,000 at B9 and $2,150,000 at B10 embedded an unevidenced US long-term incentive value; carrying it would have inflated every non-US market, so it is reported here and excluded from the table. Every other market is the Vernon Hills anchor times a base or total calibration factor times the 25 August 2026 exchange rate, inside a plus or minus 15 percent planning envelope.

CDW does not disclose city-level headcount, so no market on this page carries a coworker count. Footprint evidence is strongest for Vernon Hills, the five official India offices and the three official Asia-Pacific offices, and weakest for the continental European and Gulf markets, which are described in the source bundle as international service footprints to be verified role by role.

  • Vernon Hills, Illinois is the anchor. It is CDW's publicly identified headquarters and carries the densest evidence: two postings with disclosed ranges, Levels.fyi records and a $115,000 H-1B city median.
  • India is the largest disclosed international delivery footprint, with official offices in Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. Bangalore is the India anchor but Chennai carries the densest India sample, which is why Chennai is the only India market with reported cells.
  • The United Kingdom and Canada are separately audited geographies, so their existence is beyond dispute even though CDW publishes no headcount for either. London and Toronto at Etobicoke are their anchors.
  • Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong appear in CDW's official Asia-Pacific office directory. Only Sydney has any CDW-specific salary observations and there are only three of them, each a single data point.
  • Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid, Dublin, Dubai and Auckland are carried as service footprints. They reflect where CDW delivers, not a confirmed employing entity, and every figure for them is a flat multiplier off the Vernon Hills anchor.

Model rules

  • Total is base plus bonus. No employer benefit load is included anywhere on this page, because a notional benefit percentage is employer cost rather than pay. No modeled equity is included either, since CDW discloses no grant policy below its named executives and a zero here is a real zero rather than a gap.
  • India, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia carry separate junior and senior calibration factors because their compression is genuinely level-dependent. Bangalore base runs at 0.102 times the Vernon Hills anchor at B1 and 0.298 times at B10; Sydney runs the other way, at 0.953 times at B1 and 0.715 times at B10, because Australian statutory wage floors lift entry pay rather than senior pay.
  • The interpolation between those two endpoints is linear in seniority while the real India-to-United States ratio is convex, so India mid-ladder cells read high. The observed Bangalore base ratios are 0.098 at B3, 0.105 at B4, 0.131 at B5 and 0.145 at B6 against interpolated values of about 0.138, 0.156, 0.173 and 0.191. Treat B3 through B6 India figures as an upper envelope and use the observed local medians of ₹900,000, ₹1,250,000, ₹1,900,000 and ₹2,600,000 for negotiation.
  • Singapore, Hong Kong, Dublin, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid, Dubai and Auckland carry a single flat factor with no junior or senior split, because the source bundle modelled them as a straight multiplier off the United States table and no CDW-specific observation exists to justify a level-dependent shape.
  • Seniority is calibrated to the experience midpoint of each band rather than to a simple band index, which is why B8, B9 and B10 sit at 9, 11 and 12 on a 12-point scale. That spacing makes the geographic interpolation fit the observed senior ratios to within about 4 percent.
  • Every conversion uses one exchange-rate snapshot dated 25 August 2026 and every equity mark uses the $142.09 close on the same date. These are comparison figures, not payroll or accounting numbers.

Variable Pay & Annual Cash Incentive

CDW discloses its executive incentive plan in full and its employee bonus design not at all. The Senior Management Incentive Plan paid zero percent of target in both 2023 and 2024 before paying 100.12 percent in 2025, and the only non-executive targets anywhere in the public record are two numbers printed in two job postings.

The important number is not 100.12 percent but the sequence: zero percent in 2023, zero percent in 2024, then 100.12 percent in 2025. A CDW executive target is an opportunity that has failed to pay in two of the last three years.

Employee payout timing and history

CDW publishes no bonus matrix, no calculation formula, no gate and no payout history for the general coworker population, in any country. The 5 percent and 15 percent targets in two job postings are the only hard non-executive numbers in the public record, and both are US postings. Every other target on this page is the source bundle's assumption, and a candidate should treat the printed range as a question to ask rather than an answer to accept.

Sales and special incentives

CDW states that seller compensation is substantially uncapped. For account executives, account managers and some sales engineers, a percent-of-base target is therefore not a ceiling and the band tables on this page will understate strong performers and overstate weak ones. Glassdoor's Australian sample illustrates the spread: a Sales Consultant observation at A$151,000 to A$165,000 sits above a Project Manager at A$62,000 to A$67,000 and a Consultant at A$81,000 to A$89,000, an inversion that only makes sense once commission is included.

Equity — RSUs, PSUs, Options & ESPP

CDW runs no employee stock option plan in the Indian sense of the word. The two controlling instruments are a US omnibus Long-Term Incentive Plan, whose recurring awards are publicly visible only for executives and directors, and a broad-based Coworker Stock Purchase Plan that buys shares at a 5 percent discount. For most coworkers the purchase plan is the entire equity story.

2021 Long-Term Incentive Plan
Active
Verified
Officers, employees, non-employee directors, consultants, contractors and agents are eligible and the committee selects recipients. Permitted vehicles are incentive and non-qualified stock options, stock appreciation rights, restricted stock, restricted stock units, bonus stock and performance awards. Options are priced at no less than 100 percent of fair market value with a maximum ten-year term, and awards generally carry at least one-year vesting subject to plan exceptions. The plan contemplates local subplans for non-US jurisdictions.

Coworker Stock Purchase Plan
Active broad-based purchase plan
Verified
Eligible coworkers, generally after 90 days of service, may deduct 1 to 15 percent of pay and buy shares at a 5 percent discount to the closing price on the final day of a quarterly offering period. Purchases are capped by the US tax code limit of $25,000 a year and by a 1,250-share offering cap. Local availability and tax treatment can vary by country, so a coworker outside the United States should confirm participation before relying on it.

Historical employee and director awards including options and restricted stock units. Outstanding legacy awards continue under their original terms until vesting, exercise or expiry, so a long-tenured coworker can hold awards governed by two different plan documents at the same time. No active new-award pool is presented for this plan.

Senior Management Incentive Plan
Active cash incentive, not an equity plan
Verified
An annual cash performance award for senior management and named executives. The 2025 design weighted non-GAAP operating income at 75 percent and a strategic scorecard at 25 percent, with a plus or minus 15 percent individual modifier available to the committee. It is included here because it sits alongside the equity plans in the executive package and because it is the only incentive plan CDW describes in full.
Reserve: Cash funded; no share reserve
2026 proxy statement
  • The simple arithmetic of 22.1 million authorised less 5.8 million available leaves 16.3 million shares, or 73.8 percent of the ceiling. That is not a precise utilisation measure because award cancellations, fungible share counting and legacy plan awards all affect plan accounting.
  • Performance share units are counted at 1,075,341 shares at maximum against 560,727 at target, so the same award inventory can consume nearly twice the shares depending on the performance outcome.
  • No options were granted in 2025. The 2,373,525 options outstanding at a weighted exercise price of $139.52 have a weighted remaining contractual term of 4.59 years and are historical rather than a live compensation channel.
  • Equity compensation expense was $83.6 million in 2025 against $64.7 million in 2024 and $93.7 million in 2023, so the series is volatile rather than trending. Unrecognised cost on non-vested awards was $97 million expected to be recognised over a weighted-average 1.9 years.
  • Total securities remaining available across all plans were 6,221,069, of which 417,055 sat in the purchase plan. The purchase plan is therefore about 7 percent of remaining capacity even though it is the only channel most coworkers can access.

Year 2
67%
+33% · annual tranche
Year 3
100%
+33% of restricted stock units, plus the full performance share unit cliff · annual tranche

Executive annual restricted stock units vest one third per year over three years. Other restricted stock units may vest ratably or cliff vest over three years, so a non-executive grant is not guaranteed to follow the executive schedule. Performance share units generally cliff settle at the end of a three-year performance period and the 2025 to 2027 executive cycle settles between 0 and 200 percent on equally weighted adjusted free cash flow and adjusted earnings per share. The 2023 to 2025 cycle settled at 70.8 percent of target, delivering 13,320 earned shares to the chief executive, 4,021 to the chief financial officer, 2,006 to the chief commercial officer and 4,995 to the chief growth and innovation officer. Historical options generally vested over three years with a contractual term of up to ten years.

Eligibility by hierarchy level

  • Legal plan eligibility is not a grant entitlement. The 2021 plan permits awards to employees, consultants, contractors and agents, but CDW publishes no minimum grade, no grant matrix and no recurring award policy below the named-executive population.
  • At B1 through B6 there is no evidence of routine employer-funded awards. The purchase plan, available generally after 90 days, is the practical equity channel and it is a purchase at a discount rather than a grant.
  • At B7 and B8 the plan permits employee awards but CDW discloses neither a threshold nor a typical value, which makes equity the largest unpriced item in a director-level offer at CDW.
  • At B9 and B10 awards are permitted and likely role-selective. Grant frequency and typical value are not publicly disclosed, and no vice-president equity matrix exists anywhere in the public record.
  • At B11 and B12 the picture is fully disclosed. Named executives received annual equity in 2025 split roughly 60 percent performance share units and 40 percent restricted stock units, and sign-on awards can supplement the annual grant for external hires.
  • The most supportable conclusion from the filings is that the purchase plan is broad-based while employer-funded restricted stock and performance shares are publicly visible mainly for directors, executives and selected hires or scarce-skill roles.

VerifiedThe Coworker Stock Purchase Plan discount is 5 percent, applied to the closing price on the final day of a quarterly offering. There is no lookback and no multi-year offering period in the disclosed terms, so the plan is materially less valuable than the 15 percent discount with lookback that many technology peers run. A coworker deducting the maximum $25,000 a year captures roughly $1,250 of discount before any share-price movement. Participation generally begins after 90 days, is subject to a 1,250-share offering cap, and can be restricted or taxed differently outside the United States, so coworkers in India, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia should confirm local availability rather than assume it.

Executive Compensation

Five named executives are disclosed for 2025. Target direct compensation was roughly 93 percent variable for the chief executive and 86 percent for the others, and the annual long-term incentive mix moved to 60 percent performance share units and 40 percent restricted stock units.

Reading the package

Salary was about 7.2 percent of the chief executive's reported 2025 total and stock awards about 78.4 percent, with the cash incentive at about 14.4 percent and other compensation under 0.1 percent. CDW describes target direct compensation as roughly 93 percent variable for the chief executive. The stock figure is a grant-date accounting value rather than value received: at the $142.09 close on 25 August 2026 the same 68,138 target shares marked at about $9.68 million, roughly 18 percent below the $11.76 million grant-date figure, and the 2023 to 2025 performance cycle that actually settled in 2026 paid 70.8 percent of target.

CEO-to-median-employee ratio
128:1
Median employee $117,586 · CDW identified a median coworker for 2025 with total compensation of $117,586 against a chief executive total of $15,009,507. The ratio rose from 86 to 1 in 2023 and 94 to 1 in 2024 as chief executive grant-date equity values increased and the identified median coworker moved from $105,264 to $106,900 to $117,586. This is an SEC disclosure methodology, not a measure of pay equity by role, country or working time; a change in the selected median coworker can move the ratio without anyone's pay changing..

CDW's chief executive is paid roughly 1.4 times the Insight Enterprises figure, 1.5 times TD SYNNEX and 2.0 times PC Connection, but the comparison is rough: reporting periods, company size, grant timing and chief executive tenure all differ, and TD SYNNEX is several times CDW's revenue. CDW's own compensation peer group is deliberately broader than its direct resellers and includes Accenture, Arrow, Avnet, CGI, Cognizant, Flex, Genuine Parts, Henry Schein, HPE, Insight, IBM, Jabil, LKQ, TD SYNNEX, Grainger and Wesco, which pulls its benchmark upward toward IT services rather than distribution.

Mukesh Kumar's 2025 numbers are a partial year: $237,500 of salary paid against a $780,000 incentive target set on full-year base, plus a $300,000 sign-on cash bonus and 4,683 sign-on restricted stock units on top of the annual grant. His total is therefore not comparable to a full-year executive vice president package. Albert J. Miralles carries a Senior Vice President title while being paid on the named-executive scale, which is why title alone does not identify the pay tier above the vice-president band. CDW announced on 5 August 2026 that Miralles plans to retire in 2027 once a successor is appointed and that a search is underway.

Director stock ownership guideline5x annual cash retainerApproximately $562,500 of CDW stock at the standard retainer level.

Directors are paid roughly 62 percent in equity, which is a higher equity weight than the cash-heavy retainer structures common at distribution peers and aligns directors with the same share price that drives executive performance shares. The additional Lead Independent Director allowance is paid in equity while the committee chair retainers are paid in cash, so the lead role carries the most price-sensitive package on the board.

Regional heads and other officers

No compensation is disclosed for regional heads, country managers or business unit leaders unless the individual is a named executive officer. There is no public pay information for CDW UK, CDW Canada or CDW Technologies India leadership, and no country-level executive package appears anywhere in the filings, which is why the executive tiers are held out of the location-priced band table.

Reading guide

Purchases outnumber discretionary salesThe only open-market sale in the period followed two option exercises on the same day. The two purchases, by a director and by the chief executive, were made with cash in May 2026 at prices roughly 22 to 27 percent below the August close.
Vesting is not a trading signalThe February 2026 Miralles entries are a routine performance-share settlement and its tax withholding. Settlements, dividend equivalents and withholding should never be read alongside open-market decisions.
Indian filing regimes do not applyNo BSE, NSE or SEBI insider filings exist for CDW, and promoter and takeover-code concepts have no equivalent here. US beneficial ownership is reported on Schedules 13D and 13G instead.
Exercise prices reveal grant vintageThe August 2026 exercises at about $96 and $98 sit far below the $139.52 weighted average exercise price of options outstanding at 31 December 2025, so they came from an older tranche. CDW granted no new options in 2025.

Benefits & Perks

CDW discloses benefit categories, not plan documents. The United States is the only market with any numeric disclosure; everywhere else the evidence is statutory floor plus a global programme list, and carrier names, coverage amounts, leave-day schedules and reimbursement caps are absent from every country.

United States

  • Retirement401(k) qualified profit-sharing and savings plan. Covers substantially all US coworkers. Company contributions are discretionary rather than a stated match, and 2025 expense across profit-sharing and other savings plans was $33 million. A discretionary structure means the employer contribution is not a contractual part of an offer. [official]
  • Health and protectionHealthcare, life and disability categories. Publicly described as categories. The carrier, the employee contribution and plan-level terms were not disclosed in the 2025 Form 10-K, so a candidate cannot price the medical cost of a CDW offer from public sources. [official]
  • LearningTuition assistance and 20,000+ on-demand modules. CDW discloses tuition assistance and access to more than 20,000 on-demand learning modules. The reimbursement cap is not disclosed. Certification-heavy partner training is central to the services business. [official]
  • Family and time offParental and adoption assistance, paid time off. Both categories are disclosed and neither carries a public day count or dollar cap. [official]
  • CommunityPaid volunteer time and philanthropic matching. Both programmes are disclosed; the annual match limit is not. [official]
  • EquityCoworker Stock Purchase Plan. Payroll deduction of 1 to 15 percent buying shares at a 5 percent discount to the closing price on the final day of a quarterly offering, generally after 90 days, capped at $25,000 a year and 1,250 shares an offering. [official]
  • SalesSubstantially uncapped seller compensation. CDW states that seller compensation is substantially uncapped, which is a structural benefit of a sales role rather than a benefit plan, and the single largest reason a CDW sales package can beat its band table. [official]

Global programs

  • Compensation philosophyMarket competitive and pay for performance. CDW's stated philosophy. It is a philosophy rather than a policy: no market position, percentile target or comparator set is published for the general coworker population. [official]
  • LearningMore than 20,000 on-demand modules. The single most concrete global benefit figure CDW publishes, and it counts content rather than money. [official]
  • CommunityPaid volunteer time and philanthropic matching. Disclosed as global programmes without a published limit. [official]
  • EquityCoworker Stock Purchase Plan at a 5 percent discount. The only broad-based equity channel CDW runs, subject to local availability and tax treatment. [official]
  • UnresolvedProvider names, coverage amounts and leave schedules. Carrier names, coverage amounts, leave-day schedules, country reimbursement caps, sabbatical policy and any universal remote-work cadence were not publicly disclosed in the authoritative sources reviewed. This is the largest benefit gap in the CDW record. [npd]

Benefit fields not publicly quantified

Statutory summaries on this page are high level and are not legal advice. Eligibility can depend on employment status, tenure, salary thresholds, collective arrangements, state or province and local plan documentation. Where a row reads Not publicly disclosed it means the authoritative sources reviewed contain no figure, not that the benefit is absent.

What CDW does disclose is the executive mechanism: a 2025 scorecard weighted 75 percent non-GAAP operating income and 25 percent strategic objectives, a plus or minus 15 percent individual modifier the committee chose not to apply, and a three-year performance share cycle on equally weighted adjusted free cash flow and adjusted earnings per share settling between 0 and 200 percent. For everyone else the only public performance signal is the seller model, which CDW describes as substantially uncapped. Current US postings state that ranges may be subject to geographic differentials, which confirms that a city adjustment exists without revealing its size.

Pay progression evidence

The promotion intervals shown on the band rows are an external planning benchmark, not CDW policy, and they must never be presented to a candidate or coworker as a CDW commitment. They run 1 to 2 years from B1 to B2, 2 to 3 years through B3 and B4, 2 to 4 years through B5, B6 and B7, 3 to 5 years from B7 to B8, 3 to 6 years from B8 to B9 and 3 to 5 years from B9 to B10, with associated market increases of roughly 8 to 15 percent early and 20 to 50 percent at the senior transitions. The move from B10 into the executive tier is selective and succession-driven with no public norm. Public salary samples cannot distinguish an internal promotion from a lateral hire, so no CDW-specific lateral premium could be measured.

Reading the data correctly

  • A labour condition application wage is the offered base salary on a government filing. It excludes bonus, sales commission, equity and benefits, so it understates total compensation at every level and understates it most for sales-adjacent roles.
  • Petition count is not the same as unique hires. A single person can generate filings for new employment, extension, amendment and transfer.
  • The 25-record CDW LLC dataset and the CDW Technologies LLC petition history are different entities and should not be summed. Only CDW LLC carries published salaries.
  • City medians for Vernon Hills, Chicago and Lincolnshire each rest on one record, so they are anecdotes rather than distributions and should not be used to calibrate a city factor.
  • The Texas worksite counts carry no salary data at all, so CDW's largest visa concentration is also its least priced.
  • CDW's total visa volume, at roughly 25 filings a year per entity against 14,800 coworkers, is small enough that these wages describe a niche rather than the company.

Key Nuances & Insights

01There is no CDW pay band, and that is the finding

CDW publishes job titles, executive officer roles and plan eligibility, and stops there. No grade taxonomy, no country salary grid, no equity threshold, no appraisal scale. Every band on this page is an analyst crosswalk built from two job postings and a few hundred self-reported salary records. A candidate who asks a CDW recruiter which band a role sits in will not get an answer, because the question does not map onto anything CDW publishes.

02The broad-based equity is a 5 percent discount, not a grant

Many technology employers run a 15 percent discount purchase plan with a lookback. CDW's Coworker Stock Purchase Plan is 5 percent with no disclosed lookback, applied to the closing price on the final day of a quarterly offering. A coworker deducting the full $25,000 annual limit captures about $1,250 of discount. Treating CDW equity as comparable to a peer technology package materially overstates it.

03The executive bonus paid zero twice in three years

The Senior Management Incentive Plan paid 0 percent of target to named executives in 2023 and 0 percent in 2024 before paying 100.12 percent in 2025. That is not a rounding difference, it is a plan that did not fund. Anyone valuing a senior CDW offer on target cash should discount it against a three-year record where target was reached once.

04Long-term incentive eligibility is broad, allocation is narrow and unpriced

The 2021 plan legally permits awards to employees, consultants, contractors and agents. In practice the only recurring grants visible in the public record go to named executives and directors. There is no published minimum grade and no grant matrix, so between B7 and B10 equity is simultaneously the largest potential component of a package and the one with zero public benchmark. It is the single most important thing to get in writing in a CDW leadership offer.

05Sales pay leaves the band model entirely

CDW states that seller compensation is substantially uncapped. A percent-of-base target is therefore not a ceiling for account executives, account managers and some sales engineers, and the band tables here will understate strong sellers. The Glassdoor Australian sample shows the effect: a Sales Consultant observation at A$151,000 to A$165,000 sits above a Project Manager at A$62,000 to A$67,000, an ordering that only makes sense once commission is included.

06India is a delivery centre, not a disclosed corporate hub

CDW's official India pages describe professional and managed IT services for global clients across Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. That mission shapes the pay: a Bangalore associate sits at roughly a tenth of the Vernon Hills anchor while a Bangalore senior vice president sits at roughly three tenths, so the arbitrage is largest exactly where CDW employs the most people.

07CDW Technologies India was Sirius Computer Solutions India

The entity renaming is a live clue for anyone reading older job descriptions or checking a former colleague's title history. No public evidence shows a formal post-acquisition band harmonisation map, so legacy Sirius titles and CDW titles cannot be assumed to be equivalent, and a candidate coming from that lineage should confirm how their level was mapped.

08The Texas visa concentration is not where the headquarters is

CDW Technologies LLC files its H-1B worksites overwhelmingly in Texas, with Austin at 7, Cedar Park at 6, and Frisco, McKinney and Melissa adding 8 more, against 1 record each for Vernon Hills, Chicago and Lincolnshire. The services entity and the corporate entity hire in different places, and the disclosed Illinois wages of $115,000, $105,000 and $85,000 are single records that describe neither.

09Grant-date equity value and marked value have diverged

The 2025 named-executive stock awards were valued at grant-date accounting prices of $168.80 for restricted stock units and $173.02 for performance share units. At the $142.09 close on 25 August 2026 the chief executive's 68,138 target shares marked at about $9.68 million against an $11.76 million grant-date figure. The proxy number is an accounting value, not money received.

10The 2023 to 2025 performance cycle settled at 70.8 percent

Disclosed earned shares were 13,320 for the chief executive, 4,021 for the chief financial officer, 2,006 for the chief commercial officer and 4,995 for the chief growth and innovation officer. Combined with a share price below the grant-date mark, a CDW performance share unit has recently delivered well under its headline target value twice over.

11Directors are paid mostly in stock, executives are benchmarked against IT services

Non-employee directors take $187,433 of equity against a $112,500 cash retainer, about 62 percent in stock, and hold a 5 times retainer ownership guideline. CDW's executive compensation peer group reaches beyond distribution into Accenture, Cognizant, HPE and IBM, which pulls the executive benchmark upward relative to Insight Enterprises, TD SYNNEX and PC Connection.

12Headcount is falling while compensation expense rises

Coworkers fell from 15,100 to 14,800 across 2025, CDW confirmed further reductions in July 2026 without disclosing the number, and the Geared For Growth programme targets up to $200 million of savings. Yet the second-quarter 2026 release attributed part of the rise in selling and administrative expense to higher compensation expense including performance incentives. Fewer people, more incentive cost, is the shape of a company paying up for a smaller and more senior population.

13The median coworker moved 11.9 percent in one year

The SEC median coworker figure went $105,264, $106,900, $117,586 across 2023 to 2025, a 1.6 percent move then a 10 percent move. A jump that size in a year when headcount fell is more consistent with mix change, meaning the departure of lower-paid roles, than with a broad increase, and it is the mechanism behind the pay ratio moving from 86 to 1 to 128 to 1.

14Insider buying, not selling, dominates the recent record

The only open-market sale in the period followed two same-day option exercises at strikes near $96 and $98. Against that, a director bought 18,000 shares at about $111 in May 2026 and the chief executive bought 4,830 shares at about $103 nine days earlier, both with cash and both roughly a quarter below the August close.

Research control

CDW pays its chief executive about 1.4 times Insight Enterprises, 1.5 times TD SYNNEX and 2.0 times PC Connection, while benchmarking executive pay against a peer group that reaches into Accenture, Cognizant, HPE and IBM. Below the executive tier the positioning is the opposite: the disclosed US posting ranges of $103,000 to $151,400 for a senior quality engineer and $134,800 to $188,360 for a senior manager sit below what a pure technology employer pays for the same title, and the equity component that would close the gap does not exist below the named executives. CDW's competitive case at mid-level is cash certainty and the uncapped seller model, not total-compensation upside.

Known gaps and diligence before relying on a cell

  1. 1The executive tiers B11 and B12 are deliberately held out of the location-priced band table. CDW discloses executive packages for the United States only and every non-US table in the source bundle records them as not publicly disclosed, so including a single worldwide chief executive figure would have forced every offshore market's calibration factor toward 1.0 at the top of the ladder and produced an India division president on a US chief executive base. They are carried in the executive section instead, where the disclosed figures stand on their own.
  2. 2The source bundle's senior United States totals of $305,000 at B8, $800,000 at B9 and $2,150,000 at B10 embedded a modeled long-term incentive value that exists in no CDW disclosure and in no non-US table. Carrying it would have inflated every international market that has no such component, so the totals here are rebuilt as base plus the variable target midpoint, giving $292,500, $507,500 and $918,750. The bundle's figures are recorded here so a reader can see both.
  3. 3No employer benefit load is included in any total. The source bundle's method note states that its totals include estimated benefits, which is employer cost rather than pay; it has been stripped and every total on this page reconciles to base plus bonus.
  4. 4Modeled equity is zero on every band. That is a real zero rather than a missing value: CDW publishes no grant policy below its named executives, so no figure could be sourced. It should not be read as evidence that no B7 to B10 coworker holds CDW stock.
  5. 5Geographic factors interpolate linearly by seniority while the real India-to-United States ratio is convex, so India cells at B3 through B6 read roughly 30 to 45 percent above the observed local medians of ₹900,000, ₹1,250,000, ₹1,900,000 and ₹2,600,000. The endpoints at B1 and B10 are accurate to within about 1 percent and the senior half is accurate to within about 4 percent.
  6. 6Australia compresses in the opposite direction from India, sitting at 0.953 of the anchor at B1 and 0.715 at B10, because statutory wage floors lift entry pay rather than senior pay. Mid-ladder Australian cells read roughly 20 percent high for the same interpolation reason.
  7. 7Nine markets carry a single flat factor with no junior or senior split: Singapore, Hong Kong, Dublin, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid, Dubai and Auckland. The source bundle modelled them as a straight multiplier off the United States table and no CDW-specific observation exists for any of them, so no level-dependent shape could be evidenced.
  8. 8The source bundle's own India totals disagree with themselves in the way salary platforms often do. Levels.fyi reports both ₹954,271 and ₹1.02 million as the India software engineer median on the same page, and its US company-page median of about $111,000 conflicts with its role subpages. Both conflicts are preserved rather than resolved.
  9. 9Mukesh Kumar's 2025 line carries his $300,000 sign-on cash bonus inside other compensation so the row reconciles to the disclosed $4,343,030 total. The proxy reports it as a separate bonus column, and his $237,500 of salary paid reflects a partial first year against a full-year incentive target.
  10. 10The bundle reports the Vernon Hills B1 total as both $54,000 in local currency and $54,500 in US dollars for the same row. Neither figure survives here because the total was rebuilt from components; the difference is noted as an example of the rounding inconsistencies throughout the source tables.

Recent News & Workforce Trend

The compensation story at CDW in 2026 is a smaller workforce carrying a higher incentive cost. Headcount fell across 2025, further reductions were confirmed in July 2026 without a number, and the chief financial officer announced a 2027 retirement.

2026 employees
CDW confirmed coworker reductions in July 2026 but did not disclose the number affected, and reports an annual rather than quarterly workforce count.

CDW does not publish city-level headcount, a quarterly series by geography or a company-wide attrition rate, so the only reliable workforce numbers are the two annual figures and the United States to international split. Against that shrinking base, the SEC median coworker figure rose from $106,900 to $117,586 across 2025, an 11.9 percent move that is more consistent with the departure of lower-paid roles than with a broad increase.

5 Aug 2026
Chief financial officer transition announced

Albert J. Miralles plans to retire in 2027 once a successor is appointed, with an internal and external search underway. He was CDW's second highest paid executive in 2025 at $6,389,261 and carried a Senior Vice President title.
