Band Hierarchy

Bristol Myers Squibb publishes no enterprise-grade catalogue. Official job material confirms the EG80 and EG90 rungs, including Analyst II and Senior Associate Scientist postings, and posted salary ranges anchor Associate Director through Senior Director. Everything between EG100 and EG180 is employee-reported and conflicting, and the Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President layer is a proxy disclosure rather than a numbered grade.

Track divergence

EG80 to EG100
Predominantly individual-contributor and specialist work, with the first manager titles appearing around EG100. Cash dominates: at EG80 the modelled package is about 93 percent base and 7 percent bonus with no recurring equity evidenced.
EG110 to EG130
The clearest dual-track zone. Principal technical and scientific roles sit alongside Manager II and Senior Manager titles at the same grade, so the choice is scope rather than money. Annualised equity grows from roughly 6 percent of the EG110 package to 14 percent at EG130.
EG140 to EG160
Associate Director through Senior Director. Senior scientific and technical leads can remain individual contributors while most business and operations roles carry people or matrix leadership. Equity climbs from 17 percent of the EG140 package to 27 percent at EG160 and the bonus target doubles from 20 to 30 percent of base.
EG170 and above
Executive Director and Vice President carry enterprise or global-function scope. Equity becomes the dominant component at 36 percent of the EG170 package and 52 percent at EG180, and officer status introduces performance and market share units in place of plain restricted stock units.

Hierarchy qualifications and legacy structures

  • Do not use the enterprise grade alone to price a role. Title scope, function, location and the posted salary range are far more reliable than an anonymous grade map, and BMS posts ranges in several United States states and in Poland.
  • Software engineering is not a separate public ladder. Digital and technology titles sit inside the same enterprise-grade framework, and no BMS-specific staff, principal or distinguished engineer ladder was found in any reviewed source.
  • Legacy Celgene integration is visible in the equity plans, not in a disclosed employee-grade conversion table. The 2014 and 2017 Celgene plans were assumed in the 2019 acquisition and later closed to new grants, but a legacy-band harmonisation schedule is Not publicly disclosed.
  • The Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President layer is a corporate officer designation rather than a numbered grade, so this report keeps it in the executive section instead of extending the band ladder into it.
  • Board directors are outside the employee ladder. Non-employee directors receive cash retainers and deferred share units under a separate structure, and no director row appears in the band chart.

Critical evidence warning

Bristol Myers Squibb does not publish salary bands, minimums or midpoints for ordinary employees anywhere in the reviewed sources, and its enterprise-grade codes appear in public job material only at EG80 and EG90. Every figure at EG100 and above that is not backed by a posted range is a third-party observation or a calibrated model around one, and should be used for orientation rather than quoted as a BMS pay band.

Global Footprint & Pay Arbitrage

Bristol Myers Squibb reported approximately 32,500 employees in 43 countries at 31 December 2025, about 54 percent in the United States excluding Puerto Rico. Princeton, New Jersey is the pay anchor. India is modelled from directly observed local salaries rather than a United States multiplier, and every other market is a cost-of-labour factor applied to the Princeton median.

BMS does not publish city-level headcount, so this catalogue cannot rank sites by employee count. The only site-level figures disclosed anywhere in the sources are more than 350 employees at Chester in the United Kingdom and approximately 246 Australian employees in a 2025 modern-slavery statement, more than three quarters of them at the Melbourne headquarters.

EG160$249K$120K$75K$444K
  • The Princeton column is the anchor. EG140 through EG160 come from current BMS Workday postings discounted to the New Jersey reference market, EG100 and EG120 from Indeed manager and senior manager averages of $119,162 and $153,972, and EG90 from official job material naming the grade.
  • New Jersey is the reference market at a factor of 1.00, covering Princeton, Lawrenceville, New Brunswick and Warren. Cambridge, Seattle, San Diego and the Bay Area carry scientific and cost-of-labour premiums between 5 and 12 percent, while Tampa, Phoenix, Syracuse and Puerto Rico are discounted by 9 to 30 percent.
  • India is not a client-delivery offshore model. Hyderabad is positioned as an innovation, technology, analytics and research hub, so its column uses directly observed Indian rupee salaries with Bangalore and Mumbai carrying 2 and 4 percent metro adjustments rather than a flat United States multiplier.
  • India total compensation runs at roughly 16 percent of the Princeton anchor at EG80 and rises towards 48 percent at EG180, while base pay rises from 16 percent to 74 percent over the same span. Base and total therefore carry separate calibration factors that change with seniority.
  • Named executive pay comes from the SEC Summary Compensation Table and is never generated from the band model. The Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President layer is deliberately excluded from the band ladder so that a single global officer figure cannot drag every city factor towards parity at the top.

Model rules

  • Every modeled cell is the Princeton median multiplied by the city base or total factor and then by the 24 August 2026 XE foreign-exchange snapshot. A single snapshot is used for every currency.
  • Total compensation here is base plus target annual incentive plus annualised equity only. The source bundle added a notional employer benefit load of roughly 12 percent of base in the United States and 15 percent in India; that is employer cost rather than pay and has been stripped, so every total in this report reconciles to its own components.
  • City factors come from the bundle's own calibration, which anchors on official postings in Tampa, San Diego, Seattle and Warsaw and on third-party observations in Hyderabad, Uxbridge, Melbourne, Boudry, Singapore and Shanghai.
  • India carries separate base and total factors and separate top-of-ladder factors, because Indian base pay converges on the anchor much faster than Indian total compensation does. Every other market shows a flat ratio across the ladder and therefore carries a single factor.
  • Sign-on awards, make-whole grants, relocation, severance, shift premiums, sales commissions, tax equalisation, mobility premiums and employer payroll taxes are excluded everywhere. Where no direct city observation exists the cell is marked modeled and should be read as a planning envelope.

Variable Pay & Annual Cash Incentive

Bristol Myers Squibb discloses its executive annual incentive formula in full and discloses nothing about the employee bonus grid. The named executive targets, metric weights and Company Performance Factor below are company disclosures; the band targets are a modelled planning benchmark reconstructed from posted role material and third-party salary records.

ModeledVerifiedThe disclosed 2025 formula weights Growth Portfolio revenue at 35 percent, non-GAAP operating income at 30 percent, pipeline performance at 25 percent and sustainability and social impact at 10 percent. A named executive cash award equals the target incentive multiplied by the Company Performance Factor, with committee-approved individual considerations where applicable, and awards are generally capped at 200 percent of target. The factor was 157.66 percent for 2025, 140.29 percent for 2024 and 97.83 percent for 2023, and payment is made in March following the performance year.

Employee payout timing and history

Do not equate the executive Company Performance Factor with every employee's payout. Awards below the officer layer can carry business, function and individual modifiers, local target schedules and eligibility rules that are not publicly disclosed anywhere in the reviewed sources. There is no published bonus target by grade, so the 8 percent at EG80 rising to 45 percent at EG180 shown here is a modelled planning benchmark rather than BMS policy, and no employee-wide payout history exists.

Sales and special incentives

Sales commission plans, quota structures, accelerators, draws, project incentives, deal bonuses, spot awards and manufacturing shift premiums are all Not publicly disclosed. Commercial roles in the model carry the same modelled targets as their grade peers, which will understate on-target earnings for quota-carrying representatives and district managers, particularly in the United States and in the high-commission commercial markets.

Equity — RSUs, PSUs, Options & ESPP

Bristol Myers Squibb is a United States issuer, so employee equity means restricted stock units rather than an Indian-style employee stock ownership plan. Legal eligibility is unusually broad — approximately 27,200 employees were annually eligible and about 22,800 received a 2025 award — but no grade-by-grade entitlement matrix is published, and no employee stock purchase plan was found in any reviewed source.

Permits stock options, stock appreciation rights, restricted stock, restricted stock units, deferred share units, market share units, performance share units, other stock awards and cash performance awards. Options and stock appreciation rights must be granted at no less than fair market value except for approved acquisition substitutions. Recurring executive performance and market share unit awards generally cliff-vest after three years, while employee restricted stock units generally vest over three to four years.
Reserve: 85.0 million shares initially reserved; 36.2 million shares were subject to outstanding awards and total potential overhang was 5.9 percent at the 12 March 2026 measurement date

BMS 2026 Definitive Proxy Statement
  • The 85 million-share reserve was newly approved in May 2026, and no post-approval utilisation percentage was disclosed in the reviewed materials. Dividing historical grant volume by the new reserve would be misleading, so no utilisation figure is quoted here.
  • The three-year average burn rate was disclosed at below 0.71 percent and total potential overhang at 5.9 percent using the company's own stated denominator. Both are company disclosures rather than calculations made in this report.
  • At the $67.92 share price used for illustration the full 85 million-share reserve is worth about $5.77 billion. That is neither an accounting fair value nor expected immediate dilution; it is a scale marker only.
  • About 22,800 of approximately 27,200 annually eligible employees received a 2025 award, roughly 84 percent. Broad eligibility is a plan characteristic, not an entitlement to a grant, and the split of awards by grade or country is Not publicly disclosed.

BMS states that employee restricted stock units generally vest ratably over three or four years, so the four-year ladder above is the longer of the two disclosed patterns and a three-year ratable schedule is equally common. Recurring named executive performance and market share units use a three-year cliff instead: the March 2026 grants vest in full on 10 March 2029. Earlier grants used different schedules, so the individual grant agreement always controls. Non-employee director deferred share units are generally deferred until board service ends.

Eligibility by hierarchy level

  • Eligibility is broad and incidence is selective. The plan covers employees, officers, directors and other service providers, but BMS publishes no minimum grade for a grant, no standard award table and no guarantee that an eligible employee receives an award in any year.
  • Award type is the clearest public hierarchy rule. Restricted stock units are the instrument for the general employee population, while recurring named executive long-term incentive is 60 percent performance share units and 40 percent market share units.
  • Performance share units run a three-year performance cycle and can settle anywhere from 0 to 200 percent of target. Market share units are linked to BMY share-price performance, so both instruments carry outcome risk that a plain restricted stock unit does not.
  • No executive option grants were reported for 2023 through 2025 even though the plan permits options and stock appreciation rights, so options should not be modelled as part of a current BMS package.
  • Illustrative annualised grant values used in this report run from zero at EG80 to about $2,000 at EG90, $20,000 at EG120, $45,000 at EG140, $120,000 at EG160 and $500,000 at EG180. These are a planning model built from employee reports of roughly $4,000 to $5,000 awards in some 2025 cases at the lower grades, not a disclosed grant matrix.

VerifiedNo employee stock purchase plan, discounted share purchase scheme or lookback arrangement appears in the 2025 Form 10-K, the 2026 proxy statement or any BMS careers page reviewed for this report. Employees outside the executive layer therefore have no disclosed way to buy BMY shares at a discount, and the entire equity opportunity runs through discretionary restricted stock unit awards. India employees may participate in BMY awards subject to local plan documents and exchange-control rules, but country-level trust or remittance mechanics are Not publicly disclosed.

Executive Compensation

2025 Summary Compensation Table values from the 2026 proxy statement. The stock column is a grant-date accounting value rather than cash realised, and the two diverge sharply for packages the company itself describes as 92 percent at risk for the chief executive and about 85 percent at risk for the other named executives.

Reading the package

Salary was 7.25 percent of the chief executive's 2025 reported total, stock awards 73.41 percent, the non-equity incentive 17.16 percent and other compensation 2.18 percent. The proxy describes the target package as 92 percent at risk and 80 percent long-term incentive, so the reported figure turns on performance share unit certification and the BMY share price rather than on salary. The other named executives run at generally 85 percent at risk and 70 percent long-term incentive.

CEO-to-median-employee ratio

Median employee $166,523 · The median employee is identified across the global workforce, so the comparison mixes United States and international pay in a company where about 46 percent of employees sit outside the United States. Peer totals use each company's own proxy methodology and are not perfectly comparable. Grant-date stock valuation, pension accounting, sign-on awards and fiscal timing can each move a ranking by several million dollars. On these figures Christopher S. Boerner sits fourth of five, below AbbVie, Pfizer and Amgen and above Merck, in a large-cap pharmaceutical set where every package is dominated by performance-linked equity.

Named Executive Officers & Board

The named executive team is stable at the top but was refreshed in the medical and development function during 2025, and the whole group is being paid through a multi-year cost programme that has removed roughly 1,600 net roles since the end of 2024.

Cristian Massacesi's 2025 row is the one that needs care. His $388,462 salary is a partial year, his $1,125,000 cash bonus is a separate award rather than an annual incentive payout, and his $7,853,994 stock figure is the second largest in the table despite the short service period. That pattern is consistent with a make-whole or new-hire component, and the proxy confirms that sign-on and make-whole awards can materially change first-year compensation for strategic hires. Executive salary changes for 2025 took effect on 1 April 2025, recurring long-term incentive was granted in early March and annual incentives were paid in March following year-end.

Board compensation framework

Annual cash retainer$110,000Paid to each non-employee director under the disclosed 2025 policy. The employee Board Chair receives no director pay.
Annual equity award$210,000 in deferred share unitsDelivered as deferred share units that are generally deferred until board service ends rather than as restricted stock or options.
Committee chair and lead director retainersAdditional to the base retainerAmounts by committee are disclosed in the proxy but were not captured individually in the reviewed extract.
Independent Board ChairAbout $413,721 in 2025Peter R. Dolan as then independent Board Chair; Theodore R. Samuels received about $355,000.
Typical full-year director totalAbout $320,000Most directors who served the full year landed near this figure on the combined cash and deferred share unit package.
Plan cap on director pay$600,000, or $900,000 for the Chair or Lead DirectorThe 2026 Stock Award and Incentive Plan caps total annual non-employee director compensation, subject to plan terms.

Director compensation is a governance package rather than an employment band and is deliberately excluded from the band chart. No stock options were granted to directors, and Christopher S. Boerner received no separate non-employee director compensation while serving as both Chief Executive Officer and Board Chair.

Regional heads and other officers

The proxy identifies named executive officers and corporate officers but publishes no compensation table for regional presidents, the Chief Human Resources Officer, the General Counsel, the Company Secretary or any other functional leader. Compensation for those roles is Not publicly disclosed and is visible only through Section 16 share movements where the individual is a reporting person. No enterprise-grade code is published for officers either, which is why this report stops the band ladder at Vice President.

Reading guide

Purchases carry the most signalThe February 2025 chief executive purchase of 2,000 shares at about $55 was a discretionary open-market buy at a share price roughly 19 percent below the August 2026 level, and it is the only purchase in the sample.
Grants are not incomeThe March 2026 awards are performance and market share units on a three-year cliff. Nothing settles until 10 March 2029, and performance share units can settle anywhere between 0 and 200 percent of target.
Rule 10b5-1 reduces but does not remove timing questionsBoth chief financial officer sales ran under pre-adopted plans, so the trade dates were set in advance. The plan adoption date still matters, and the April 2026 sale ran on a plan adopted 3 June 2025.
Spot values are illustrative onlyEvery 2026 grant value here uses the $67.92 close of 25 August 2026 for comparability. Grant-date accounting values in the proxy and eventual realised values will both differ, potentially by a wide margin.
This is a sample, not a registerA complete list of every vesting and tax-withholding transaction would run far longer than the decision-useful selection above. SEC EDGAR is the source of truth for the full record.

Benefits & Perks

Benefits are considerably better evidenced than pay at Bristol Myers Squibb, because the company runs country careers and rewards pages even though it publishes no salary scale. Every row below comes from an official BMS page or a named government rule, and rows that rest on statutory minima are marked as such rather than presented as BMS policy.

These are recorded as undisclosed rather than filled in from unrelated employers.

Performance Review & Pay Progression

Bristol Myers Squibb discloses its executive review calendar in the proxy and discloses almost nothing about the process that applies to everyone else. Executive salary changes for 2025 took effect on 1 April 2025, recurring long-term incentive was granted in early March and annual incentives were paid in March after year-end. The enterprise-wide merit calendar below that layer is not published.

Off-cycle adjustments can occur for promotion, expanded responsibility, retention or market correction, but BMS publishes no standard percentage schedule for any of them. Public evidence supports cost reduction and role elimination rather than a broad salary cut or a formal enterprise pay freeze: no reviewed source records either. Restructuring is the complication that matters most for progression, because management-layer reduction and site consolidation can shrink the number of open roles even while selected hubs such as Hyderabad and the new Houston-area campus expand.

Pay progression evidence

Modelled progression, not BMS policy: EG80 to EG90 typically takes 1.5 to 3 years for an 8 to 15 percent base increase; EG90 to EG110 takes 2 to 4 years for 10 to 18 percent; EG120 to EG140 takes 2.5 to 5 years for 12 to 22 percent; and EG150 and above takes 3 to 6 or more years for 15 to 30 percent plus an equity recalibration. These are transparent planning assumptions included so the ladder is usable, and they should never be represented as BMS policy. Equity recalibration rather than base pay becomes the dominant lever from Associate Director upward, where annualised stock moves from roughly 17 percent of the package at EG140 to 52 percent at EG180.

Reading the data correctly

  • Labour condition application wages are guaranteed base salary. They exclude the annual incentive, restricted stock units, sign-on payments and every benefit, which together are a large part of any BMS package at Associate Director and above.
  • Quartiles for Lawrenceville, Princeton, Tampa and Devens are reconstructed from the company-wide spread rather than published by the Department of Labor, so they are analytical estimates and are labelled as such on each row.
  • The Princeton median and record count come from different windows in the source, so the pairing is directional rather than a single consistent sample.
  • The public extracts disagree materially because they apply different legal-name filters, fiscal-year windows and status categories. A $148,703 median, a $154,159 average and a $166,187 subset average all describe the same employer over overlapping periods.
  • A labour condition application is a filing, not a hire. Certified applications exceed petitions, and petitions exceed actual employees. Use the Department of Labor and USCIS source files for anything legal or audit related, preserving the exact legal entity, fiscal year and worksite filter.

Key Nuances & Insights

01Broad equity eligibility, uneven practical incidence

Approximately 27,200 employees were annually eligible and about 22,800 received a 2025 award. That is genuinely broad, but BMS publishes no grade-by-grade entitlement matrix, and employee reports of roughly $4,000 to $5,000 awards at the lower grades sit alongside no award at all for others at the same level. Predictability rises with seniority rather than being guaranteed by it.

02The grade map is less reliable than the job posting

EG80 and EG90 have public clues in official job material; every mapping above that is employee-reported and the sources conflict. Where BMS posts a salary range, as it does in several United States states and in Poland, the posted range should control and the grade code should be ignored entirely.

03Executive pay is almost entirely at risk

The proxy describes the chief executive target package as 92 percent at risk and 80 percent long-term incentive, and the other named executives as generally 85 percent at risk and 70 percent long-term incentive. Salary was 7.25 percent of the 2025 chief executive total, so the reported number is an accounting valuation rather than money received.

04Annual and long-term outcomes diverged sharply

The 2025 cash Company Performance Factor reached 157.66 percent while the completed 2022 to 2024 performance share unit award settled at 63.12 percent of target. Reading one as a proxy for the other is the single most common error available in this disclosure, and the two measure different periods on different metrics.

05India arbitrage is large but strategic, not a delivery-centre discount

Hyderabad is an innovation, technology, analytics and research hub rather than a client-billing delivery organisation, so the conventional onshore-offshore framing does not apply. Scarce digital, analytics and clinical skills can command substantial premiums over broad Indian market averages, and the compression against Princeton narrows from roughly six times at EG80 to close to two times at EG180.

06United States geography is visible in the postings

Tampa sits about 12 percent below the New Jersey reference for a like title on the current Associate Director posting, while San Diego, Seattle and the Bay Area carry premiums of 5 to 12 percent. This is one of the few large pharmaceutical employers where the geographic spread can be read directly from live job advertisements rather than inferred.

07Lateral and retention awards can dominate a single year

Cristian Massacesi's 2025 row shows a $388,462 partial-year salary alongside $7,853,994 of stock and a separate $1,125,000 cash bonus. The proxy confirms that sign-on and make-whole awards materially change first-year compensation for strategic hires. Comparable mechanisms below the named executive layer exist but are not disclosed.

08Restructuring distorts promotion timing

Headcount fell from about 34,100 at year-end 2024 to about 32,500 at year-end 2025 under a productivity programme targeting $2 billion of savings by the end of 2027, and a New Jersey WARN disclosure covered 247 roles across staged 2026 dates. Management-layer reduction and site consolidation shrink the number of open roles even while Hyderabad and the new Houston-area campus expand.

09There is no employee stock purchase plan

Nothing in the 10-K, the proxy or any BMS careers page describes a discounted share purchase scheme. Employees below the officer layer have no disclosed route to buy BMY shares at a discount, so the entire equity opportunity depends on a discretionary restricted stock unit award landing in a given year.

10The reserve is new, so utilisation figures are meaningless

The 85 million-share 2026 plan reserve was approved in May 2026 and no post-approval utilisation percentage has been published. Dividing historical grant volume by the new reserve produces a number that looks precise and means nothing.

11Total-cost comparisons must separate employer cost from employee cash

Social charges in France and Belgium, superannuation in Australia, pension in Ireland and statutory provident fund in India can make two equal base salaries economically very different. The source model added an employer benefit load of roughly 12 to 15 percent of base to every total; that load has been stripped from every figure in this report.

12High-inflation markets need live local pricing

The source model covered Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico. Argentina in particular becomes stale within weeks of any foreign-exchange snapshot, which is why this report keeps only the markets where a static conversion remains defensible and drops the rest rather than publishing figures that will mislead.

Research control

Christopher S. Boerner's $21.88 million sits fourth of five in this large-cap pharmaceutical comparison, below AbbVie at $32.53 million, Pfizer at $27.58 million and Amgen at $24.69 million, and above Merck at $20.11 million. The 131:1 pay ratio is markedly lower than the technology-sector norm, largely because the BMS median employee is paid $166,523 against a global workforce that is 46 percent international and heavily weighted towards research, manufacturing and commercial roles rather than software engineering. On the employee side the EG80 to EG180 ladder tracks the large-cap biopharmaceutical market closely, with the equity share of the package rising from zero at entry to 52 percent at Vice President.

Known gaps and diligence before relying on a cell

  1. 1The Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President cohort is deliberately excluded from the band ladder and carried in the executive section only. Including it would have anchored the top of the location interpolation on a single global officer figure and pushed every offshore market towards parity at the top of the ladder, which is exactly the distortion that produces an Indian officer priced on a United States officer base. The ladder therefore ends at EG180 Vice President with a seniority of 11.
  2. 2The source model computed total compensation as base plus target incentive plus annualised equity plus a notional employer benefit load of roughly 12 percent of base in the United States and 15 percent in India. That load is employer cost rather than pay, so every total in this report has been rebuilt from its own components and no figure here matches the source bundle's headline totals. The Princeton EG140 total is $261,000 here against $283,000 in the bundle for exactly this reason.
  3. 3India's geographic compression is convex rather than linear. Observed Indian base pay runs at 16 percent of the Princeton anchor at EG80, about 27 percent at EG120 and 74 percent at EG180, but the report engine interpolates linearly by seniority between the junior and senior factors. That overstates modelled Indian base pay in the EG110 to EG130 range by up to roughly 45 percent against the observed local medians, and the observed figures should be preferred over the interpolated cells in that window. Indian total compensation fits the linear interpolation closely and needs no such caveat.
  4. 4Only one research bundle exists for this company, so there is no second model to cross-check against. Where the bundle itself flags conflicting evidence, chiefly the EG100 to EG180 grade mapping and the Princeton H-1B median and record count coming from different windows, the conflict is preserved rather than resolved.
  5. 5The visa extracts disagree materially. H1B Salary Lookup gives a $148,703 median across 214 combined FY2025 and FY2026 records, MyVisaJobs a $154,159 FY2025 average across 247 filings, and H1BGrader a $166,187 average across a 63-record FY2026 legal-name subset. Each is preserved separately rather than averaged, and city quartiles outside New Brunswick are reconstructed from the company-wide spread.
  6. 6Named executive annual incentive targets are not stated as percentages anywhere in the reviewed extract. The 150 percent chief executive and 100 percent other-officer targets shown here are implied by dividing the disclosed payouts by the disclosed 157.66 percent Company Performance Factor, and are labelled as implied throughout.
  7. 7Committee chair and lead director retainer amounts are disclosed in the proxy but were not captured in the reviewed extract, so the board table names the retainer without a value rather than estimating one.
  8. 8BMS discloses no geographic revenue split in any reviewed source, so the regional revenue panel is omitted entirely rather than repurposed to show something else.
  9. 9The source model priced 54 markets including Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand, South Korea, Hungary, the Czech Republic, the Nordics, Belgium, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates. This report keeps 30 markets where a static foreign-exchange conversion remains defensible and where the source recorded a traceable factor, and drops the high-inflation and thinnest-evidence markets rather than publishing figures that will be stale or unsupportable.
  10. 10The 2024 year-end headcount of about 34,100 includes acquired workforces as well as organic movement, so the 2023 to 2024 rise and the 2024 to 2025 fall are not a clean like-for-like series.
  11. 11No companywide salary hike percentage, pay freeze, salary cut, campus offer revision or off-cycle correction schedule was located in any source, for either 2025 or 2026.

Recent News & Workforce Trend

Bristol Myers Squibb is cutting cost and investing in selected capabilities at the same time. There is no companywide salary action in any reviewed source, but there is a multi-year productivity programme, a New Jersey WARN filing and a $2.3 billion new campus, and all three change the promotion and hiring picture more than any pay announcement would.

The 2024 rise and the 2025 fall are not a clean like-for-like series, because the 2024 increase reflects acquisition and integration effects on top of organic hiring. Site-level quarterly headcount and voluntary attrition are Not publicly disclosed anywhere, so the only geographic signal in the filings is the roughly 54 to 46 split between the United States excluding Puerto Rico and the rest of the world.
