How ADP Pays
L0–L11 modeled career bands, compensation across 32 cities in 15 countries, the 2018 Omnibus Award Plan (RSUs, PSUs, legacy options) and 95%-price ESPP, FY2025 named-executive pay and 284:1 pay ratio, SEC Forms 4 and FY2026 H-1B wage data.
Band Hierarchy
ADP publishes no global band catalogue, so L0–L11 is a normalized cross-company hierarchy for comparing technical IC and management careers across countries and sources. L0–L9 are analytical bands; L10–L11 are exact FY2025 SEC disclosures.

Hierarchy qualifications and legacy structures
- No authoritative ADP document reviewed provides a single global “Band 1 through Band N” catalogue. The L0–L11 framework is a normalized hierarchy for comparing technical IC and management careers across countries and sources; titles can overlap between business units, functions and acquired operations.
- ADP has acquired businesses, including WorkForce Software in October 2024, but no reviewed source disclosed an enterprise-wide legacy-grade conversion table, predecessor-band mapping or harmonisation schedule. Any claim that a specific acquired title maps one-for-one to an ADP band would be unsupported.
- The peer-company mapping is a market-equivalence guide, not an official cross-company leveling table.

Critical evidence warning
ADP does not publish a complete all-employee grade architecture, a country-by-band salary table, local equity thresholds, a universal bonus table, employee attrition, a rating distribution or a universal appraisal/hike calendar. L0–L9 are analytical cross-company bands, not claimed ADP internal grades. L10–L11 use exact FY2025 SEC disclosures and are converted to local currency only for comparison — not as local-market executive benchmarks.

Annual compensation review / hike cycle by country
A verified universal employee compensation-review month, hike effective date, off-cycle market-adjustment policy or country-by-country calendar was not found. ADP’s fiscal year ends 30 June; executive performance goals and awards follow a fiscal-year governance cycle, but that does not establish the timing for every employee population. Local review timing is therefore Not publicly disclosed.
Model limitations
- 1Public salary sites have sample-size, self-selection, role-classification and date limitations.
- 2Salary ranges may include or exclude superannuation, bonus, commissions or equity depending on country/source.
- 3Currency conversion is a point-in-time comparison and does not equal purchasing-power parity.
- 4Grant-date award values are not realized pay.
- 5Benefits are valued by a standardized model load where no cash value is public; individual utilization differs.
- 6City multipliers are analytical and do not represent an ADP geographic-differential schedule.
- 7L10–L11 converted values should never be interpreted as local executive compensation bands.
- 8No modeled value should replace a current offer letter, plan document, award agreement or statutory advice.
Variable Pay & Annual Cash Incentive
Only the named-executive targets and the company payout factor are filed. L0–L9 targets are an indicative market model — ADP does not publish employee bonus targets by band, and lower-band cadence and formula are not publicly disclosed.
| Band | Target / planning rate | Payout mechanism | Recent payout |
|---|---|---|---|
L0 Intern / Trainee | 0–3% modeled | Annual assumed; lower-band cadence, weights and formula are not publicly disclosed | Not publicly disclosed |
L1 Associate | 2–6% modeled | Annual assumed; lower-band cadence, weights and formula are not publicly disclosed | Not publicly disclosed |

L9 Vice President | 35–75% modeled | Annual assumed; lower-band cadence, weights and formula are not publicly disclosed | Not publicly disclosed |
L10 EVP / Named Executive Officer | 100–150% of base | Annual; formulaic — pre-established company measures plus individual strategic objectives, certified by the Compensation and Management Development Committee | 107.1% of target (FY2025 company factor) |
L11 President & Chief Executive Officer | 200% of base | Annual; formulaic — pre-established company measures plus individual strategic objectives, certified by the Compensation and Management Development Committee | 107.1% of target (FY2025 company factor) |
Executive annual cash incentive — disclosed mechanics
FY2025 target cash-incentive opportunities were 200% of base salary for the CEO and 100%–150% for the other NEOs. The plan uses pre-established company performance measures and individual strategic objectives, with the Compensation and Management Development Committee certifying outcomes. Individual NEO outcomes can differ from the company factor because of role targets and individual performance.
Company cash-bonus payout factor
For the three-year programme ending FY2025, disclosed annual weighted achievement was 117% for FY2023, 111% for FY2024 and 132% for FY2025. The three-year average was 120%; a relative-TSR modifier of 114.5% produced a final payout factor of 137%. This is executive LTI performance, not evidence of employee cash-bonus payout.
Lower-level calculation inputs and cadence
A reliable companywide formula tying employee bonuses to utilization, client satisfaction, business-unit results, ratings or deal closure was not publicly disclosed. Anonymous reviews mention bonuses and sales incentives but do not establish a universal plan. Payout cadence below executives — monthly, quarterly, semiannual or annual — is role-specific / not publicly disclosed. Sales commissions, implementation incentives, referral awards and spot awards may exist by role, but no global schedule was found.
Equity — RSUs, PSUs, Legacy Options & ESPP
The 2018 Omnibus Award Plan is the only plan used for new equity awards; since September 2022 those awards are time-based RSUs and PSUs. The ESPP is employee-funded share purchase at 95% of market value and should not be treated as a company-granted award.
Beginning in September 2022, ADP stopped granting new stock options, time-based restricted stock and performance-based restricted stock; new employee awards are time-based RSUs and/or PSUs depending on eligibility. Legacy options remain outstanding but are not a separate plan: 836,000 were outstanding and exercisable at a weighted-average exercise price of $163, with $50.5 million aggregate intrinsic value and a three-year remaining life. The plan architecture is narrower than the generic term “ESOP” suggests, and award agreements — not the plan document alone — determine an individual’s grant and vesting conditions.
FY2026 equity activity and reserves — 30 June 2026
Vesting mechanics — time-based RSUs, ratable over three years
Current time-based RSUs generally vest ratably over three years subject to continued service and award terms; a four-year visual was requested in the page specification, but ADP disclosure supports three years, so a fourth year is not fabricated. Executive PSUs use a three-year performance period, and FY2025 NEO long-term incentive was 75% PSUs and 25% time-based RSUs by target value. Outside the United States new awards generally cash-settle, creating an equity-like incentive without issuing local shares.
Eligibility by hierarchy level
- L0–L2: no recurring grant is modeled; the ESPP may still be available to eligible US employees.
- L3–L9: the annual grant-value ranges are modeling ranges intended to prevent the page from implying that every employee receives equity. The public record does not reveal a minimum eligibility band, country-by-country grant policy, refresh cadence below executives or typical grant size by employee grade.
- L10–L11: exact FY2025 SEC grant-date values — $3.629M–$5.163M for continuing non-CEO NEOs and $14,791,040 for the CEO — under the annual executive grant programme.
- Conditions everywhere are role, performance, retention and plan terms; the minimum employee band is not disclosed.

| L11 | $14.8M – $14.8M | ₹141.66Cr – ₹141.66Cr | ~52,265–52,265 |
L3–L9 grant sizes are modeling ranges, not disclosed ADP policy; L10–L11 are exact FY2025 grant-date values. Share equivalents use the $283 ADP reference price of 25 August 2026, 19:22 UTC and ignore plan valuation rules and PSU performance. Awards outside the United States generally settle in cash, so a local-currency value is an economic equivalent rather than shares delivered.
Executive Compensation — FY2025
FY2025 Summary Compensation Table values from the proxy filed 25 September 2025 are grant-date accounting values, not cash received. Maria Black has been President and CEO since 1 January 2023; her cash-incentive target was 200% of base salary.
Reading the package
Maria Black’s FY2025 package was $19,137,192. Stock awards were approximately 77.3% of the Summary Compensation Table total, salary 6.4% and non-equity incentive 13.7%. The proxy median combines countries, part-time/full-time/temporary workers and exchange-rate conversion — it is not a US median salary.
| FY | Median | CEO (SCT) | Ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | $64,996 | $10.7M | 197:1 |
| 2024 | $65,894 | $15.9M | 241:1 |
| 2025 | $67,434 | $19.1M | 284:1 |
Median-associate compensation increased 3.8% from FY2023 to FY2025 (1.4% in FY2024, 2.3% in FY2025), while the disclosed pay ratio rose from 197:1 to 284:1. The ratio is sensitive to CEO grant-date award values and global workforce composition; it should not be interpreted as a country-specific median wage.
Peer figures are not perfectly comparable because fiscal years, executive tenure, award design, workforce geography and pay-ratio methodology differ. They are directional governance context from issuer proxy statements, not a ranking of “fair” pay.
Named Executive Officers & Board
FY2025 Summary Compensation Table totals for the six named executive officers, plus the non-employee director compensation framework. Continuing non-CEO NEOs ranged from $5.02M to $7.24M; FY2025 NEO long-term incentive was 75% PSUs and 25% time-based RSUs.
Pension change and “all other compensation” are shown as filed; John C. Ayala’s $1.27M other compensation reflects his departure arrangements and he received no non-equity incentive for FY2025. Grant-date accounting value is not the same as realized value, which depends on vesting, performance and share price. Peter Hadley became CFO on 1 July 2025 with Don McGuire remaining through a transition period.

Benefits & Perks
ADP’s country careers pages and the FY2026 10-K disclose benefit categories — 401(k), ESPP, provident fund, medical, pension, tuition support — but rarely providers, insured sums, employer contribution percentages or leave-day counts. Statutory minimums are labelled separately and are not ADP enhancements.
India
- Retirement — Provident fund. ADP lists provident fund; the statutory EPF framework generally uses 12% employee and employer contributions on covered wages, subject to eligibility and wage-base rules. [company-disclosed + statutory]
- Health — Medical, dental and vision. ADP careers lists medical, dental and vision benefits; insurer, limits and family-floater detail were not publicly disclosed. [company-disclosed]
- Time off — Paid time off. Listed by ADP; exact annual, sick and casual leave days were not publicly disclosed. [company-disclosed]
- Development — Career development. ADP lists career development; platform and reimbursement limits were not publicly disclosed. [company-disclosed]
Global
- Learning — Learning and development. Formal learning, mentoring and tuition/study support are listed in several country benefit pages, but no single global allowance is disclosed. [company-disclosed]
- Wellbeing — Employee assistance / wellness. Available in several countries; exact vendors and coverage differ and were not publicly disclosed globally. [company-disclosed]
- Mobility — Internal mobility / rotations. Public roles and leadership biographies show international mobility, but no universal rotation policy or allowance schedule was found. [inference]
- Leave — Sabbatical. Not publicly disclosed as a global benefit. [not publicly disclosed]
Requested benefit fields not publicly quantified
The reviewed sources did not reliably disclose provider names, insurance sums insured, family-floater limits, exact India leave-day counts, maternity/paternity enhancements, food-coupon values, NPS employer contribution, cab entitlement, relocation bands, phone/internet allowances, US employer health-premium contribution, exact 401(k) match formula, vesting schedule, PTO-day matrix, UK pension percentages, private-health contribution, Australia private-health subsidy, sabbatical policy or a universal certification-reimbursement cap. ADP’s FY2026 10-K confirms US defined-contribution/401(k) arrangements and the ESPP, but plan-level formulas should be taken from current employee plan documents.
Performance Review & Pay Progression
ADP’s fiscal year ends 30 June and executive goals follow that governance cycle, but the employee rating scale, appraisal month, increment matrix and calibration are not publicly disclosed. The promotion timeline is a research model, not ADP policy.
Disclosure status by topic
| Topic | Finding | Evidence class |
|---|---|---|
| Rating scale | Employee-review sites mention ratings and calibration but do not establish a reliable company-wide scale. | Not publicly disclosed |

The model is a career-planning heuristic — research model, not ADP policy. It should not be converted into an expectation that promotion occurs automatically after a specified tenure. Public data did not establish separate IC and management review calendars, forced-distribution percentages, promotion committees or standard lateral-hire premiums.
Pay equity and lateral-hire gap
ADP discusses inclusion and workforce programmes publicly, but a country-by-country adjusted pay-gap table or remediation budget was not found in the reviewed compensation sources. Market practice can produce compression or lateral premiums, but no ADP-specific dataset supports a universal internal-versus-lateral percentage.
H-1B / LCA Visa Footprint — United States
ADP Technology Services, Inc. is a significant H-1B filing entity but not necessarily the only ADP entity. Labor Condition Applications are offered-wage records, not a payroll census; I-129 approval counts and LCA counts are different measures.
Offered-wage statistics by scope — third-party government data
| Scope | Median / average | P25 | P75 | Count |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Roseland, NJ — Software Engineer FY2022–FY2026 certified LCAs · MyVisaJobs city/title aggregation | $128,206 Median | $118,737 | $144,877 | 48 |
All locations — ADP Technology Services FY2026 LCAs to 18 Aug 2026 · H1BGrader / MyVisaJobs; p25 indicative where publisher display was incomplete | $129,376 Median | $111,000 | $152,131 | 271 |
All locations — FY2025 FY2025 LCAs · MyVisaJobs (average, not median) | $161,496 Average | Not in source | Not in source | 478 |
MyVisaJobs reported 271 FY2026 LCAs and 155 I-129 petitions for ADP Technology Services in the period reviewed, with 154 approvals and one denial (about 99.4% among adjudicated petitions), plus 478 FY2025 LCAs. H1BGrader reported an FY2026 median LCA salary of $129,376 and a 90th percentile of $160,805. A Roseland software-engineer slice across FY2022–FY2026 showed a $128,206 median across 48 certified LCAs.
Reading the data correctly
- H-1B evidence is entity- and period-sensitive. ADP Technology Services, Inc. is a significant filing entity but not necessarily the only ADP entity.
- Labor Condition Applications represent offered wage records, not a complete payroll census; I-129 approval counts and LCA counts are different measures.
- The disclosed wage is normally annual base pay and excludes bonus, RSUs, ESPP value and most benefits.
- These third-party aggregations (H1BGrader, MyVisaJobs) should be reconciled against USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub and Department of Labor downloads for legal, immigration or offer-level decisions.
Key Nuances & Insights
Executive equity mix, grant values and performance mechanics are rigorously disclosed. Below executives, eligibility thresholds and refresh practices are not public.
International employees may receive cash-settled awards that economically resemble equity but do not create the same shareholder/settlement experience as US share-settled awards.
ADP is a human-capital-management, payroll, benefits and outsourcing company. Commission-heavy sales roles, implementation roles and service operations do not fit a software-only hierarchy.
The proxy median combines countries, part-time/full-time/temporary workers and exchange-rate conversion, with a permitted Philippines exclusion. It is not a US median salary.
Market practice can produce compression or lateral premiums, but no ADP-specific dataset supports a universal percentage.
PF/gratuity in India, superannuation in Australia, pension/leave rules in the UK and local social insurance affect total employer cost even when cash salary is lower.
WorkForce Software and other acquired operations can retain transitional titles and practices. No public harmonisation map was found.
ADP discusses inclusion and workforce programmes publicly, but a country-by-country adjusted pay-gap table or remediation budget was not found in the reviewed compensation sources.
The model shows market gaps; it does not prove a guaranteed onsite allowance, rotation duration or repatriation package.
The supplied specification requested Bengaluru as default while listing Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai as core India locations. The page preserves that distinction.
Research control
ADP’s public evidence is strongest for named executives and equity-plan accounting, and thinnest for the all-employee grade architecture. The model indicates pronounced geographic pay arbitrage for equivalent professional bands — an analytical estimate, not evidence that ADP uses a single global transfer-pricing multiplier. A value marked research model is an analytical estimate; a value marked company-disclosed is taken from an ADP or regulatory source; Not publicly disclosed means no sufficiently reliable public evidence was located as of 26 August 2026.

| Statutory | Government rule | Minimum entitlement, not necessarily ADP enhancement |
| Third-party government data | Aggregator of LCA/petition records | H-1B directionally useful; period/entity caveats |
| Research model | Explicit formula based on public anchors | L0–L9 city-by-band grid; never described as official ADP pay |
